We open up to the delightful image of shirtless doctor Hogback. Yes. Thank you Oda, this is what we were all clamoring for. Or maybe just me. Hogback is taking notes and Absalom got mad game going on with the local furries, much to his assumed dismay.

Times are tough in the Dadan household. Little Luffy makes no bones about loathing anything bandit-related due to past encounters, and Dadan blows up at him how her gangs life is in the crapper and that Luffy can go play in traffic for all she cares. Charming woman, this Dadan. Luffy tells her he wants some of Aces meat, and Dadan responds as any reasonable adult would.



Luffy’s response?



Oh captain. Luffy basically tells the bandits that he’s already had so much of his grandpas tough love that nothing they can do could be worse, and then promptly decides to bugger off and hunt after Ace. Dadan blows her top again, as her gang tries in vain to calm her down. What then follows is the experience every older sibling will at one point have with their younger one: Luffy follows Ace and bugs bugs bugs him to let Luffy hang with him on grand adventures, which Ace curteously denies.

By kicking over a tree and sending it hurtling down the slope towards Luffy. Theirs is truly a loving family. But Luffy doesn’t give up, oh no! He follows Ace to a ropebridge… where Ace smacks Luffy off the ropes and sends Luffy hurtling to his demise down below. Jesus Ace you got issues. Back at Dadans it’s nightfall and Ace returns alone, telling the gang that he doesn’t know where Luffy is. Dadan doesn’t care because she’s a douchebag like that. One week later however, it’s Luffy again! And he resumes bugging Ace the very next morning. We get a short montage of Luffy going through many a dangerous trial and facing many a dangerous beast in his attempts to follow Ace until he, after three long months, finally reaches the destination Ace keeps going to. And oh boy…



Is it a doozy. A gargantuan trash-heap filled with the refuse of mankind, where crime, disease and misery runs rampant and WAIT A MINUTE is all this taking place on the same island as Luffy grew up on? How big IS the damn thing? And how many people live on it if it’s populated enough to have a garbage ghetto hidden away on some secluded place miles away from everything else? Ach, anyway: Ace runs into his partner in crime-



Sabo! Who I don’t know if we’ve ever seen up until now? Eh, they reveal that they’ve been hoarding stolen money and riches in order to one day buy a pirate ship, to sail away and have grand old adventures. Unfortunately they should have been a bit quieter about that there reveal- because Luffy was standing beneath them the whole time and heard everything. We then cut to Luffy being tied up against a tree and telling Sabo he and Ace and Luffy should be friends! Oh… captain. Ace and Sabo reach a conclusion- they’re just gonna have to kill Luffy to make sure he doesn’t tattle. Luffy freaks out and screams, Sabo and Ace freak out and start arguing who should do it because neither of them have ever killed before (not that it stopped Ace from attacking Luffy and sending him plummeting to certain doom…), and they end up being heard and run away. Because around the corner arrives Polchemy- the large henchman for the pirate Bluejam (really?), who apparently was the last one who ended up being robbed by Ace. And he’s NOT happy about it.

Ace and Sabo discuss what they should do, and are about to make their escape when they suddenly notice that they’re missing someone: namely Luffy. Who has gone and gotten himself captured by Polchemy… Oh, captain. Luffy spills that he knows Ace, but manages to catch himself from tattling about knowing where all the money is kept in the most subtle of ways.



And so, it ends with Polchemy dragging Luffy back to their base, and Ace and Sabo wondering what they should do now…
