We open up the chapter with LABOON! IT’S LABOON YOU GUYS IN THE BACKGROUND THAT’S HIS EYE LABOOOOON YOU ARE THE BEST WHALE EVER! Oh, and there’s Crocus and that Rayleigh dude too, chilling in a hot tub. Just two shirtless old men. In a hot tub. With LABOOOOOOON.
Anyhow, I’m sure that won’t have anything to do with todays chapter, just like none of the previous cover-images have! Nope, we start out with Laws crew spying a struggle between a Sea King and an unseen assailant, with the assailant killing the Sea King. They briefly discuss what could have destroyed a Sea King so easily when all of a sudden, a hairy leg and a fantastic set of abs make their way onto shore! And they belong to-



Rayleigh! Well. What do you know. Whose ship apparently sunk in ANOTHER ocean, so he had to swim across the calm belt to get to Amazon Lily. He would’ve been there sooner, but you know how it is, old age.



Law is upset that he will never be so fine a man as Rayleigh is. As he should be. As he should be.

At the center of Amazon Lily everyone is excited to meet Luffy again, which makes me guess that they haven’t been listening in to his rage-rants, and on the way towards Luffy Nyon informs Boa that no, a hug does NOT equal marriage. When Boa asks what does, Nyon doubts SHE’S the best one to tell her. Nyon, seriously, no matter WHAT you tell her it’ll be better in the long run than letting Boa reach her own conclusions. Really.

We then cut to Rayleigh again, and Luffy is as surprised to see him as Jinbei is smitten.



But with a man like that, who wouldn’t be? Luffy asks about Law, and Rayleigh says he simply left. Probably because he realized he couldn’t compete in sexyness with both Boa AND Rayleigh present. At the Yellow Submarine the crew whines because they were hoping to get a break from all the sodomy, and Bepo wishing he could get ANY play at all (keep dreaming Bepo), as Law muses on how ”D” will create another storm before long. Then suddenly- reunion!



Apparently Rayleigh and Shyakky took care of Gloriosa, Boa, Marigold and Sandersonia when they were on the run from the Tenryuubito, and helped them escape... which makes their unconditional hatred of men a little off, but whatever- it’s time for more Boa antics! She’s brought food and practically hides behind the carriage because she can’t even look at Luffy, and she scolds Jinbei when his stomach growls, and then Luffy doesn’t start eating immediately-
WAIT WHAT JUST HAPPENED? OH SNAP. OH SNAP CAPTAIN DIDN’T DEVOUR EVERYTHING INSTANTLY. This is a strange new world we’re entering. I think I’m frightened now. Someone hold me.

Sometime later, Boa actually acknowledges that Rayleigh is present. Oh Boa. When Nyon shares her anxieties regarding how easily he found them Rayleigh tells them not to worry, the marines won’t look for Luffy on Amazon Lily- because the only reason Rayleigh knew was because Kuma told him!

Yes ladies and gentlemen, we finally flash back to what Kuma said to Rayleigh all those chapters ago, and it’s…





… apparently something different depending on what translators you go by. Eeeeefff. Granted, some may not consider it important lest they are a Kuma-fan as I, but it seems to me that the two different translations say that EITHER Kuma sent everyone to a pinpoint location meaning he had a plan in doing so, or he simply sent them in general directions and estimated where they would come down. Anyhow, Rayleigh adds that he didn’t believe Hancock, who hated men and the Government would ever hide a man onboard his ship, whereas Shyakky suggests that maybe Hancock fell in love with Luffy, ”Monkey-chan is so cool, after all”. Seriously captain do you have like cougar-pheromones sprayed on you or what? Rayleigh first laughs and says that’s stupid, and she’s stupid for believing but what do you know, Mysterio IS gay for Spiderman.

That was an ultra-injoke I know, I know, my bad, but I just couldn’t resist. Anyhow, Rayleigh takes a moment to reflect on the absurdity of it all, and then tells Luffy it’s time to get down to business. They aren’t going back to Shabondy (I’m not calling it Sabaody because it’s a stupid name), because it would just be a repeat of last time, without a Kuma there to save their asses this time. Instead, he has a plan…

We then cut to… is it? CAN IT BE?



IT’S FATSOPP! And he’s doing Usopp things, like… getting himself viciously beat up within an inch of his life, and getting patched up by his new buddy Heracles-un. Heracles tells Usopp that it’s pointless to leave, the further out he goes the more the creatures on the island will fight and push him back in! But why on Earth is that? Why is this island so dangerous to begin with, and so full of food? Because, as the narration points out, all the delectable treats available on the island is a trap. It draws in prey as large as Sea Kings, and then…



The Island, a GIGANTIC carnivouros plant called a ’Stomach Baron’ (I see what you did there Oda… I think) closes it’s petals and starts digesting! Of course, we already knew this from the anime, but still- enjoy your Nightmare Fuel. Heracles pulls off a spectacular rescue as he once again asks Usopp why he’s suddenly so adamant on getting off the island ever since he found a newspaper from a (presumably eaten) news Coo, to which Usopp can only reply…

Meanwhile, it’s CHOPPER! YES YOU ARE THE CUTEST THING EVER CHOPPER I HAVE MISSED YOU SO! And apparently, he’s brought peace to the birds and the humans of the island he landed on, since the birds feared the humans wanted their eggs while all the humans wanted was the plants that grew on the trees the birds lived in! They all invite Chopper to stay, bu the says he must be going: he too has read the news and knows that he must be there for Luffy in his time of need, and as such flies away on one of the birds, enjoying the brisk breeze… until he reads the latest news Coos (seriously those things must be EVERYWHERE and work hella hard to deliver all the news everywhere), prompting this reaction.



What could be going on here? A new bounty, or something even worse? Hold on to your lognuts kiddies, all will be revealed next time on One Piece!

So… Usopp. Just out of curiosity- post with Fatsopp when this is all over and done with Y/N? Eh? Eh?
