We start this chapter off with Zoro confusing a crocodile for one of his weights while reading manga with his feet, because he's Zoro and that's what he does. Seriously, I am impressed with how flexible his toes must be.

Lost in despair, Chopper runs through Shabondy in search of someone who is totally and utterly Robin, but not for long. For who does he run into but…



… Holy CRAP doctor grew up fast! Of course he can’t show that growth in his hybrid-form because mascots gotta masc, but damn if it’s not a change from what we’re used to! After some quick conversation, Chopper figures out what the rest of us already know- they are fakes and not the real deal. Although the adorable reaction Chopper has to this…



Is almost enough to make me forgive Oda for writing such a pants-on-head dumb scene in the first place. Meanwhile, Fake!Sanji and Fake!Zoro are running off in search of wherever Chopper has gone to on orders by their captain, but run into someone they certainly did NOT expect.



Yes captain, listen to your not!waifu. Truly her wisdom shall see you through this crisis. Meanwhile, the real Zoro is feeling a bit bored so he chooses the most random-ass thing I ever heard him complain about to rile up Sanji. Sanji rages and tsuns some more, whereupon Zoro admonishes him and tells him to know his place. After all…



Oh Zoro. Sanji is totally gonna be called 7 for the remainder of their sailing days now. Meanwhile in Grove 46 we see the gathering of the hopeful pirates that wish to sail beneath the Fake!Hats flags, and they are as ever an eclectic bunch.



A rookie marine reports in about the situation, most likely doing everything he can to refrain from updating the people listening on the other end of whether his pants are currently just a bit moist or soiled right through, while I notice that Coribou has a lizards on his head as a hairdo. That is amazing. The marine is however, as we say around these parts, shit out of luck.



Once discovered the marine is quickly run through by Caribou, who then proceeds to do this.


Well, I’m terrified. And a little bit reminded of the Dark Knight Returns-Joker. For some reason I can just imagine Caribou saying he wants to put smiles on peoples faces. But before he can do that and worse, the captain calls out! Yes sirree bob it’s Fake!Luffy, gathering his assembled hordes to go out and kick the asses of those chumps who humiliated him, just as Fake!Sanji and Zoro return with…



… Okay I’m going to give Luffy a pass because he’s captain and because it’s not like he’s been using all these years to study up and become any smarter and…

God I’m just gonna move on. Next weeks imminent beatdown will at least be amazing. At the concert hall at grove 33 however, trouble is afoot! Brook recieves a mysterious call, but says he cannot leave right away as he has an encore to perform. But the concert is interrupted by dastardly marines, crashing the place and bringing the funk to a stop! They bring the breaking news that Brook is under suspicion of being the former captain of the Rumbar pirates and that his bounty is STILL in effect, AND that he is apparently in cahoots with Luffy. But how could they have figured this information out? Was it Sentoumaru or Kizaru who snitched? Moria? No ladies and gentlemen-



It was the managers! Just goes to show that what my old grandma used to say is true- never trust a man with a double-jointed arm. And they do actually have a pretty good point, I mean… I get that Brook would keep the fact he's going to join up with Luffy under wraps but man, all his back-up musicians are going to be unemployed now, he could have at least warned them his was coming up. Anyhow, out gunned and out manned, it looks like this is curtains for the Soul King… or is it?




Oooh yes. Oh yes. Hail to the king, baby. Hail to the king. God I love Brook.
But enough of that- it’s back to Grove 17, anchorage of Thousand Sunny! Chopper and Usopp have apparently not listened to the fan-backlash because they are head over heels in love with Franky’s new design.



Oh Chopper, you really DO make everything better. Franky reveals that not only can he make smaller, more functional hands pop out of his regular-sized ones, he can also do…



… Yes. Yes. YES YES YES THE HAIR IS BACK. THE HAIR IS BACK AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL. FORGIVE MY LACK OF FAITH ODA, FORGIVE ME! But before seeing any more features, Shyakky and Rayleigh show up and spread the news that the marines are gathering to attack the Fake!Hats, which they know because they have somehow bugged their communications. Oh well they’re old and awesome I guess they can do that. Shyakky reveals herself as the one making the call to Brook, prompting this line from Franky.



In mangastreams it was apparently something along the lines of a ”He sure got spine” or some kind of joke revolving around bones. Oh yes Franky- do not doubt the boney one. Usopp worries that Luffy hasn’t arrived yet, but Rayleigh assures them all that Luffy’s present. Now all that is left to do is to round up the gang and head for Grove 42, where the place for their departure to Merman Island shall finally commence!

Ladies and gentlemen- here we are and here we go. Long have we waited and now, now the time for waiting is at an end. 601, not 600, will probably be the big huge reunion chapter then, as we will have the crew together and setting out on new adventures!

Unless Oda decides that what he’s ACTUALLY going to do is to kill off the Strawhats and have the remainder of the series be about the Fake!Hats immoral adventures. Welp, guess we’ll have to wait until next week to find out!

Apparently in the RAW, Franky said Brook had 'bones', rather than guts.
