Sup folks! Double weekly recap now because I forgot to do last chapters until we were well into the new week, and then another chapter came out and I figured 'eh, might as well make it double. ON TO THE STORY THEN.

We open up to something marvelous. I do not know where to begin- mustachioed balloon salesman Brook? The gorilla in a dress? All the other animals that mill around and are awesome? I just do not know wher to start, it’s all so gosh darn awesome.

Back at Coral Hill, things are, predictably, not going very well. Shirahoshi is too scared and blubbery to tell the panicking crowd off, and Chopper is trying his best to have Sanji NOT turn around. But Sanji decides that for the sake of his dreams he MUST choose Death, prompting Chopper to ask him if his dream wasn’t seeing All Blue, which means that yes- Oda know what he wrote all those years ago. He just doesn’t care because it’s funny picking on Sanji :)

And so, Sanji turns around.

Ha ha ha oh Sanji you fail at everything

It goes about as well as could be expected. The enraged mob turns on Luffy and captures him and Chopper and Hachi, one of the mermen even pointing out how he recognizes Hachi as one of Arlongs old men. The princess actually attempts to tell the mermen they’re wrong, but for plot conveniences sake they completely ignore her. Things don’t look good, when Luffy spots something inbound right for their position… Vander Decken. Looking mad as a hatter and hellbent for matrimony.

Axe murderers just aren't her type man

Oh Oda. Stay classy. Decken makes a hilarious face and then promptly decides that if stepping on his feelings is all she’s good for, then he’s gonna whip out two gigantic axes out of hammer space and mince himself some sushi for dinner! The mermen tries to help Shirahoshi escape but Luffy reacts harder with the angriest face he’s shown so far in the series and tells her to stay put, or else he can’t defend her.

What follows is nothing less than Luffy D. Monkey showing us why he’s got the rep he has, and that while it’s all good and well to let a bunch of mooks tie you up so you don’t cause a bloodbath…

This is why this man is captain

Aaand this too I guess

You do not interfere with the captain when the captain has asses to kick. Luffy bounces down and asks Shirahoshi to untie him because he’s SERIOUSLY tired of Fishman Island, and proceeds to swim away on the shark with his friends and Shirahoshi, probably prompting all the merpeople to believe Shirahoshi has come down with… whatever they call Stockholm Syndrome when you live in a world without Stockholm. But Decken isn’t done yet! He summons Wadatsumi aaaand Luffy knocks a giant tooth out and Wadatsumi starts bawling and they get away. Nothing to it.

Back at Ryuuguu palace, the New Fishmen Pirates tell Hodi that a mermaid and a human woman escaped, which Hodi pays no attention to. But perhaps he should have- for Nami and Keimi are heading towards where Jinbe is waiting! For you see, not only does Nami not believe she has to worry about her fellow crewmembers lives, they’re all tough enough to handle it, but she IS curious about Jinbe’s message, and wants to know more about the history behind the Fishmen Pirates from the main man himself. Leave it to clever Nami to put the plot back on track!

As for Hodi?
And this is why Zoro is the BAMF to rule them all

Yeah. That’s the last page, so it’s definitely not going to be over the next chapter (I predict that Hodi is going to overdose something fierce on his steroids), but… daym. Lolonoa Zoro, ladies and gentlemen. Accept no effing substitutes.

Welp, a nice chapter this one- at least because we’re on the move plotwise, and have seen some darn impressive curbstomps take place. It seems less and less likely that Decken and Hodi are the main villains in this fight, and that something else is a foot here, something behind these two villains… perhaps Nami’s chat with Jinbe will be what finally illuminates the mysteries afoot, here.

We open up with Shu and his master opening up a giant pet food store. There is nothing in this image that doesn’t make me happy in every ventricle of my heart.

Meanwhile, things are less exciting and happy at the Ryuuguu Palace. As they witness Zoro kicking their bosses ass the entire Fishman army roids up, prompting King Neptune to take this to…

HADOYOULIKEMENOOW

Also this. Unfortunately King Neptunes awesome waterbending comes with a steep price- while he opens up a path for his troops to escape, he throws out his back and becomes stranded… until Hoe appears and swims in, sweeping up Neptune and carrying him out to safety!

Hodi likes to pat-pat

… Uuunless one of the minions snuck Hodi a steroid which helped him recover, while Zoro passed out from lack of oxygen. The king tells his soldiers to find Fukaboshi and regroup, as the New Fishmen Army surround their hostages…

I'm tellin' ya people no respect at all

Also Brook gets no respect. No respect at all, I’m tellin' ya.

Over at the sea forest we get a LOT of stuff done in quick succession- Luffy Shirahoshi Hachi Sanji Chopper go to the forest and meet Tom and Den and apparently Nico Robin had already arrived and went into the Coral Forest and then Jinbe comes out

Here at tits we will take your penis

and slam it into the door of a brand new sedan

And makes an awesome face and wonders why Luffy didn't get his message and what Hachi is doing there all busted up and then Sanji springs back to life inexplicably but most welcomely-

we will make that happen for you

-being back to his flowery self again while Luffy punches a thrown axe out of the air and then Nami and Camie arrives and Camie freaks out and everyone is brought up to speed about Hodi and finally Jinbe drops this bomb!

so come down to tits and let go of my suspenders

*Collapses*

WOW. This chapter went by in a damn flash, didn’t it? Stuff moved and shook and got out of the way to make room for the next set-piece of the story real quick, even if I think it’s weird that Vander Decken didn’t crash the party- hopefully he got so beat up he can’t do anything but throw axes right now, meaning next weeks exposition party WON’T be interrupted by random crazy dude… even if I must admit that the thought of Jinbe dropping this heavy exposition while Luffy and co just bats away random thrown objects is kind of hilarious.

Whatever- expansion on the history of the Sun Pirates and Arlong next week, and I’m already looking forward to it. Gonna be interesting to see how the crew reacts, especially Nami…
