One Piece gets the cover this week, but the only interesting part here is Brook with flowers in his afro. So, moving on- the chapter cover is a picture of Patty and the Baraties new ship, the Sister Ankoo where desserts are served beneath the sea floor. Pretty baller, I must admit.

The chapter opens up with us delving further into the plans of the dastardly Vander Decken- he and his two mook crewmen (who appropriately enough wear shirts with the letter A and B on them, so we can tell them apart) talk about a legendary treasure called ”Urashimas Casket”, which Vander Decken believes can age anyone up to their proper age and is apparently supposed to be within the royal palace vault. Thus, their plan will be to use the casket to age Shirahoshi to marriagable age, and THEN he can marry her! So, off it is to steal the treasure!

But wait, the crewmen reminds him, if he marries Shirahoshi FIRST he can easily have access to the casket at any time since he can come and go as he pleases! So, off it is to WAIT ten years for Shirahoshi to become off age and THEN marry her so that he can age her up with the casket! And then he will have access to all the treasures and riches of the sea!



No, really? With your stunning charisma and wit, how can people not be falling over themselves in an attempt to land your favor, Vandy?

Because of her elite negotiation skills Otohime managed to convince the World Noble to back the petition of migration with his name, meaning that if they were to present the petition to Reverie it would have some real weight behind it. How do the people respond?









All of my warm fussies, man. All of them. After seven long years of labor her efforts finally pay off, as the Fishmen gather to the plaza in droves to show their support. Also tiny Keimi and Pappugg there in the corner are socute. We cut from this joyous occasion to a talk between Otohime and her sons, where she reveals to them that Shirahoshi summoned the Sea Kings on that fateful day, fulfilling the qualifications for a certain prophecy- that there would one day be a mermaid princess born capable of communicating with the sea kings, whereas regular merpeople can only communicate with regular fish.



Just posting this frame to say I love Ryoboshis reaction- I would so do the same in his situation. Furthermore, when that mermaid princess appear a person would also appear to give said princess guidance, and then ”the world will be forever changed”. She asks her brothers to become strong warriors to protect Shirahoshi when that day comes, as the ability might awaken before she can control it if she receives another great shock. BUT I’M SURE THAT WOULD NEVER HAP-

So yeah, seeing your mommy fall down, your brothers in tears and everyone scrambling around to find the shooter-



-while at the same time getting creeptouched probably counts as a ”major shock”. But before shit can hit the fan Otohime gathers her children and tells them to not let anger or hate cloud their lives or judgment…



A lesson which Ryoboshi and Manboshi quickly take to heart.



Even Fukaboshi manages to simmer down enough to promise their mother they will look after their sister, and to seal the deal:



Oh God this chapter. All of my sad feelings. All of them.

Ssso. A shooter out of nowhere, Vander Decken coincidentally showing up to get his badtouch on, lots of chaos and general disarray in this chapter… it’s one hell of a messy climax where lots of questions arise, but here we are. Next chapter will probably be the unpleasant aftermath, and after that it’ll be back to the present, where Jinbes story time must’ve created on somber goshdarn mood. ”So yeah that was Fishman Island story time. Everyone died and everyone was miserable. The end. Oh by the way Shirahoshi hope someone told you about your power which could potentially bring apocalyptic doom upon our island, otherwise- hoo boy, would my face be red. Or more like purple probably, what with my skin color being blue and all. No harsh feelings, right?”
