Nov. 20th, 2011 04:06 pmWe start things off with a look at rubberband land, where everything is awesome, the kids are wearing symbols from both nations, the giant snake is a bungee station and Aisa the mindreading girl is handing out balloons. Cavities, I can has them.
But no time for cavities, as we then cut to Chopper explaining that he can use the Balls to transform into monster form without going berserk! Que Usopp praising him, and Chopper...
... I can’t tell if that’s adorable or terrifying. At any rate, both Dosun and Daruma get annoyed with this buddy-buddy development and go on the attack, but it is too late! Usopp’s trap has been sprung!

Daruma is sprung into the air with Usopp’s trampoline plant and set up for a major blow, while Icaros Muchi takes off his helmet and reveals his headspear (I don’t even know man), telling Franky that nothing can resist this attack! Zeo spins his bolas around fast enough to create a zone into which nothing can enter, Hyouzou creates brand new swords of POISON, Wadatsumi threatens to roll his inflated self around and everyone around him while Dosun winds up to hammer time! What can our heroes do to counter these ferocious assaults?
What they can do?

WHO

THE

HELL

(goddammit Oda would you cut it out with the “Nami and Robin are funhating harpies” gag already)
DO

YOU THINK

THEY ARE?!
Thus undone, we can turn our focus exclusively to Noah… and considering the destruction it can bring, we’re going to goshdarn NEED it. Anyhow. Still waiting for my awesome Nami and Robin pagespread action, Oda. Deliver that, and we are good.

Date: 2011-11-21 02:58 am (UTC)Their non-combat skills and roles are MASSIVELY more important! Nami's boss fight is against the Grand Line, using navigation. Robin's is against the World Government, using history. This gets ignored and overlooked because it's an action manga, but both of these are challenges of such a massive scale that it breaks the damn table!
But that's just my highly optimistic opinion.

Date: 2011-11-24 01:16 am (UTC)I think it's mostly just weariness with the arc. It's been awesome to learn all this backstory... but there has just not been enough Strawhat action, you know? So now that we finally get it, having the girls and only the girls be left out kind of sticks out.
